Buy the book "The Girl Who Played With Fire " from Amazon.com.Just finished The Girl Who Played with Fire, the second book in the "The Girl" trilogy, by Stieg Larsson. I found the second book to be even better than the first. The depth and detail of the story and characters jump off the pages.
I am looking forward to the U.S publishing of the third book The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest (although I just learned you can order the U.K. edition through Amazon). It's too bad Larsson isn't alive to hear the international praise for his books.

The Girl Who Played With Fire
I finally got a chance to read the entire trilogy. Well, I actually listened to them all and I have to say that this was definitely my favorite book of the three.
The best thing about The Girl Who Played With Fire (book #2), is that the action started right away since the character development was already put into place. There really wasn't a whole lot of time spent on introducing characters. I noticed that you can get away with not reading The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (book #1) and jump right into book 2 but, there is some background information from book #1 that is a "nice to know".
One of the most impressive things about the book for me was the intellect of the characters. They were methodical and calculating and gave an heir of mystery to them. I felt like a part of an exclusive group of people because formulating relationships among eachother was not an easy to do. You knew each character well and could easily picture them doing what they were doing in any scene. The action was just intense and kept coming and coming. I really appreciated the unpredicatability throughout the entire story.
The ending was very satisfying. I was a little nervous thinking that Stieg Larson was going to force his readers into the third book but he didn't. It was very nicely done.
I watched the Swedish version of the movie, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and loved it. It stayed true to the book and I actually enjoyed it much more than the book itself. Did I just say that? Although I do think they could have found a better looking Blumquist. So I am really looking forward to the second movie.
I would definitely recommend this book to read. I loved it! I couldn't put this book down!
